Interview with Carina Bauer, CEO of IMEX Group.
1) What would you say is the Signature of IMEX that makes it Different to other Exhibitions?
We are very focussed at IMEX on what we call our ‘partnership approach’. 2) Business is Personal is the Education Theme – so why this theme and why this year?
Business is Personal is really a recognition of the fact that although the primary reason our buyers and exhibitors are coming to IMEX is to do business, Apply for loan now at Payday Now. it’s also important to make sure that there is something at the show for them personally – to help them grow and develop professionally, or to assist them in their wellbeing or sustainability goals.
So, the Business is Personal theme encompasses everything from our wellbeing initiatives, sustainability, CSR, as well as our educational tracks for Business Skills and Personal Development.
These sessions are designed to offer new ideas on how to change old habits of mind, body and spirit and ways to incorporate these ideas into both professional and personal life.
There are also numerous ways for both buyers and exhibitors to explore our Business is Personal theme off the show floor, via meditation sessions in the Be Well Lounge, new at IMEX in Frankfurt this year, or by joining others for an energetic start to the day at the IMEXrun.
3) For Hosted Buyers that have previously been to the show, what is different that they can expect this year?
Firstly we have made the Hosted Buyer programme much more flexible. European buyers can now extend their visit to IMEX and opt in advance for a three day (two night) programme. This will give them more time to spend at the show; doing business, networking and soaking up the inspiration and new ideas. This new option is in addition to the day only and two day (one night) programmes which we already offered.
In addition, we have revised group appointment timings to give hosted buyers more time to explore the show floor – the show will now open at 9.45am, with no group appointments scheduled before 11am or after 4pm; and are also offering increased refreshments in the hosted buyer lounge.
In terms of the show itself, it is continually evolving and we are set to welcome hundreds of new exhibiting companies to the show. Buyers will have a wide choice of suppliers to meet with many established exhibitors having increased their stand space including Croatia, New Zealand, PromPeru, Qatar, San Francisco and Serbia – and hotel groups – ATA Hotels, Hilton International, Preferred Hotels and Trump Hotel Collection. Taking stands for the first time, or returning to the show, include Catalunya Convention Bureau, Wyndham Hotels, Uniglobe Travel and Bizzabo – a new technology exhibitor.
